For this project, we were tasked with designing a ritualistic experience on the site of Sheffield General Cemetery. 

 

My proposal is a book exchange based on an honour system, where people are welcome to take a book while leaving one of their own. The building’s design is an oval-shaped building that will be situated between the two established oak trees that will heighten the reading experience.

 

It is designed to be universally accessible with a ramp that circles the building, alongside repaving the existing pathways with asphalt.
